Punjab Government Latest Notification About the Salaries of Government Employees 2023 (Latest Update)

As we all know there's been an issue going on since the start of the July because of the announcement of the Punjab Government of Pakistan Budget of 2023-2024. Since then Government Employees are protesting against the increment they've received in the budget. In budget Punjab Government announced that the Increment is salaries will be 30% and the increment in pensions will be 5%. As the inflation has increased up to 100% since the last year. The government Employees had to say that no one is looking out on them as the inflation increases their salaries must increased up to 35% on the running basic pay. As in other provinces except Punjab the increment in the salaries is up to 35% which is implemented in Sindh, Baluchistan and all other provinces respectively. But after the announcement of the controversial Budget of Punjab the increment announced is only 30% on the Initial Basic Pay.

That means the Employees of the Punjab Government will only get the Increment on the basis of the Initial basic Pay of their current Scale and not the Running Basic Pay. This made the Government Employees Burst in to fire and get out of their offices and home they protested for 3 days with no working in any Government organizations.

As Per our knowledge we came to know that the Protest was finished because the Senior Bureaucrats of the Punjab Government has asked for some time up to 1 month as what we heard.

But Yesterday on Monday 17th July, 2023 Punjab Government has released another Notification that clears that there is no 35% Increment in salaries. Here's what they have to say :

• That the Increment is the Salaries of Punjab Government Employees is 30% At The Initial Basic of The Scale From 2017.

• The ones who are promoted to the next Scale will get their Salaries Increment On the Initial Basic Pay from the year 2017 of the Current Scale.

• The Increment in the Pensions is merely 5%.
