Apple has recently introduced a new health feature called "iPhone Screen Distance" for iPhones and iPad with the Recent Update or Who currently have IOS 17. This feature is specially designed to reduce eye pain and the strain on the eyes when reading or playing games. This feature is only available on IOS 17 or higher. This feature can be a live saver for people of every age and this also reduces the risk of risk of an eye condition called "myopia" which is near eye sightedness in younger kids.

As according to ophthalmologists using your Phone at a distance of 12 inches away from your eyes is really beneficial for the eyes. With this new feature Apple will encourage it's users to maintain a healthy eye distance while using their iPhones and iPads.

How Does The iPhone Screen Distance Feature Work?

The Screen Distance feature uses the True-Depth Front Camera System on iPhones and iPads to analyze the distance between the screen and the user's eyes to be at least 12 inches. It urges users to use the Phone at a distance of 12 inches currently this feature is only available on iPhones and iPads and no other Mobile companies. When the distance between the user's eyes and the screen is less than 12 inches the Screen Distance feature automatically sends a Full Screen notification to alert the user. Forcing them to hold their devices away up to 12 inches for a little period of time.

It is ensured by Apple company itself that the privacy of the user will be maintained properly as the camera will not take any pictures or videos of the user except tracking the distance. The collective data will be kept only in the user's device and will not be shared to even Apple itself on any other companies.

The Screen Distance feature is available with Apple devices having IOS 17 or higher or your device must have FaceID. If you're FaceID is not working or it is blocked or your front camera broken then this feature will not work on your iPhone.
