In 6 years working constantly on YouTube i find out how important the content is on YouTube. Actually YouTube is all about Content. If your content is good enough sometimes you don't really need to rank it. It will shine by himself but if it's not than probably you have to work on it and make it unique. If your content is something you coped from another person it is not unique. Unique is the content you made using your ideas from your own mind not watching someone's video and copied with some changes that will not work. Unique content is the must because YouTube is a video sharing site not some article writing so the more appealing and engaging your content is the better it will tend to perform.
Do's and Don'ts Of Content On YouTube :
- Resolution is the first thing that you need to keep in mind when making content for YouTube. Because the more better resolution your video have the more likely people will watch it. For example I am on YouTube I want to watch news so I searched for it and a lot of videos came up I opened the first video and it has 360p resolution it's hard for me to even read the news so I will of course open the video with at least 720p of resolution . Right now people are even posting content in 4k. Note that your content must appear the full screen of any device. The best resolution for YouTube is 1280 x 720.
- Editing is the second most important thing that you have in your mind. While editing some people make big mistakes like they edit using free software's that left a watermark on the videos and so the videos doesn't look professional. Always use a good editing software it's not necessary that you have to buy it you use crack versions they work very fine. Two of the best editing software's for me are Camtasia and Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro.
- No Copyright Material must be used in the videos not even an image not even a song . Use no Copyright sounds if you need music in your video so you will not get a copyright strike on your video. You can see the content of MrBeast it's so unique that i love to watch it myself or DudePerfect and all of you guys can make content like this it's not that hard.
Thumbnails :
Thumbnails according to some unprofessional so called guru's of YouTube can get you more views. But in my experience a thumbnail can increase the click through rate of your videos while someone searched for the keyword your video is based on. But it cannot force or engage people to watch your content. So the good content is the only key to get people to watch your video, get a lot of subscribers and likes too. There are a lot of click baiting videos on YouTube but when you opened them the content is something else and not what they're offering in the Thumbnail and most probably you will not gonna watch that video because it doesn't have the content you're looking for .So Thumbnails are only to increase the Click through Rate. This is the real thing and the reason why we're here. I told you guys some key points about the content so you can learn everything. So let's start from the beginning. Things that are very important to rank the video are these we call this YouTube seo. Long tail Keywords :
Long tail keywords are the keywords that are very exact match to the phrase like if I search for funny videos all of the funny videos will appear but if I search for pets funny videos of 2023 only the exact videos will appear so this is what long tail keywords. They are easy to rank and have less volume as compare to the short tail keywords.
The above searched keyword is a great long tail keyword as it has a very low competiton you see and a good volume that means it is easy to rank and can get use good views by ranking only in this particular keyword.
Short Tail Keywords :
Short tail keywords are those keywords that are a broad match to the phrase and are very short like funny videos this is a short tail keyword. They are very hard to rank and have a huge volume and competition. Just like this
Look at the statistics of the keyword above. This shows that this is a very hard keyword to rank for.
Things you need to look for when doing Keyword Research :
Always keep these points in mind when you're doing keyword researching. Because these are very important if you want to rank if you miss a single point you will never rank. These are :
- Always look at the Keyword Competition.
- Always Look At The Keyword Volume And Score.
- If Keyword has a High Competition It's Better To Make A Video On A Different Niche.
- Always Put Keywords in Title, Tags and Description. Make sure you put the Keyword First in the Title.
- As long as the competition is low we can rank for that keyword easily.
- When putting keywords in Tags make sure you add only 2 to 3 short tail keywords and all other must be Long Tail Keywords. Because when you rank for long tail keywords your video will automatically scale up in the search for short tail keywords.
- Always use VIDIQ extension for Keyword Researching.
2. Channel Authority :
In my experience I have learned a lot about channel authority and also how important it is when it comes to rank a YouTube video. Channel authority is exactly same as domain authority so that means the more older your channel is the more authority it has. That's why the big Youtubers videos tend to rank more than the small channels because they already has some videos that are ranking on the first page. Channel authority depends on :
- How old your channel is
- How many videos are already ranking
- How many subscribers you've got
- What's your channel like ratio
When you've got all of them that means you're channel has authority and it has more chances to rank than the new channels. Cause old channel videos rank faster than new channel videos.
3. Optimizing Title, Tags and Description :
Now we came to the third point which is optimizing title, tags and description . The only way to optimize these is to put keywords in title tags description make sure you follow these steps when making them :
- Start your title with a keyword
- Put a lot of keywords in the Description
- In Tags add only 2 short tail keywords and all other must be long tail to maximize the result
YouTube algorithm :
In my experience as I've seen that YouTube rank videos on the basis of watch time your video receives in 24 hours. If you're video receives higher watch time it will automatically rank on top that's why one Youtuber channel is ranking on top in a lot of niches because his subscribers watch his video in 24 hours so he gets the watch time he needed to rank.
What if My Video Still Not Ranked After Following All the Steps Above :
Now here's the trick, if you're video still doesn't rank after optimizing it then you have to use the method called Private Method
